As a general practice, most classroom circles should be focused on community building and regulation. Until a deeper level of trust is established within the classroom it isn't recommended to use classroom circles directly for harm repair or more vulnerable topics. If a teacher begins the year with circles to build a strong classroom community, establish classroom norms and values, it provides a strong foundation to return to when things go wrong. After holding community circles regularly most teachers report that relationships improve and disrespectful behavior falls away.
